Before you go
Read the meeting point on your booking, because two are in use and the one that applies depends on the option you pick. Dress as you would to cook at home and wear comfortable shoes.
Arriving in Psirri
The kitchen is a few steps from Monastiraki Square. Psirri is one of the inner Athens districts that is especially busy with nightclubs and bars, so an evening start lands you in a lively street.
The chef's introduction
Nothing is chopped yet. The chef talks through Greek and Mediterranean cuisine and introduces the day's ingredients, and the cooking begins after that.
The cooking
Two pies come first, a spinach pie and a milk pie, followed by a salad of cherry tomatoes with aged local vinegar and a yogurt tzatziki. Moussaka and spanakopita are the dishes that headline the class.
Up to dinner
When the class is finished you sit down on the rooftop and eat your own dishes. Wine pairing can be requested at the venue, the full wine menu and bar are extra, and tips are not included.
The last look
The evening ends looking across the centre of Athens toward the dome of Agios Dimitrios church, with the Acropolis monuments and the Parthenon in view and lit once it is dark.
